Chinese Garden Visit

E-mail Print

On 3/4/15, happy participants woke very early on Good Friday , a public holiday morning and attended a tour of the Chinese Garden  .

“ Chinese Garden was built in 1975 and designed by Professor Yuen-chen Yu, an architect from Taiwan . The Chinese Garden’s concept is based on Chinese gardening art. The main characteristic is the integration of splendid architectural features with the natural environment. The Chinese Garden is modeled along the northern Chinese imperial style of architecture and landscaping. Beautiful features of chinese garden include the main arch building, the stone lions at the building entrance , the stone bridges and the pagoda twins”-  extract from wikipedia.

This is the first of the series of events for Chinese Heritage Festival .

( Moulmein Dunearn Neighbourhood Committee is a successful applicant in the National Heritage Board (NHB) heritage grant scheme. )
