Parents’ Day Celebration

Tanglin CC WEC organized the Parents’ Day Celebration held at SPAN-JOMS Club House on Sunday, 23 May 2010.

The program was very well received which included napkin demonstration, Henna, glitter tattoo, hairstyling and make-up for participants.

Guests of different ethnic groups together with their families were entertained with lots of exciting games and performance from a belly dancer wowed the crowd.

Moulmein Family Day Event – visit to ACM, Helix Bridge and Marina Bay Sands

Moulmein FLC Committee joined forces with Ah Hood Gardens R C, Balestier N C and Goldhill N C to, once again, organize a successful ‘Moulmein Family Day” event in support of the National Family Celebration 2010. The afternoon-to-evening event attracted a total of 210 participants, many of them coming in big family groups. The Guests of Honour were Moulmein Constituency’s Adviser, Acting Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts, RADM (NS) Lui Tuck Yew and family.

Pek Kio Community Centre Building Fund Golf Tournament

A most successful Fundraising Golf Tournament was held at the Orchid Country Club on 7th May 2010. The event attracted a total of 54 flights and helped raised some $250,000 for the Pek Kio Community Club Building Fund. Gracing the occasion were Mr Wong Kan Seng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs and Moulmein Constituency’s Adviser RADM (NS) Lui Tuck Yew, Acting Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts.

Mr. Lui, in welcoming participants to the event, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the golfers, donors and sponsors for the generous support in our fundraising efforts for the new Pek Kio Community Club, to be co-located with the Indoor Sports Hall of the Farrer Park Primary School along Gloucester Road.

On 7/3/10,a hot Sunday afternoon, Dunearn NC organised a sandcastle workshop at east coast.Making sandcastles together encouraged family-bonding and helped us learn more about teamwork . Everyone had a wonderful time and all participants received a sandcastle-building kit.

Dunearn NC-Easter Party at Jacob Ballas Garden

On 10/4/10, Dunearn NC celebrated Easter at Jacob Ballas Garden.It was a sold-out event!

The children played many games , such as the Giant Egg Decoration contest , the Easter Egg Hunt and the Family Basket Egg Race. We even had giant Egg piniatas filled with sweets and toys.

Participants also had candy-floss , macdonald's burgers,apple-pie and ice-cream and lots of prizes and sweets.

Everyone had a wonderful time and that very evening after the event , we received a thank-you note from a happy resident ,an extract of it as below:

“Just wanted to say that my family and I had a wonderful time at the Easter Event at the Children's garden today. It was very well organized with fun activities and lots of prizes for the children. I was surprised that so much came along with just the $2 ticket - thank you! We look forward to future events.- Jennifer”
