Dear Residents

On behalf of the Moulmein Community, I extend heartfelt congratulations to Dr Tony Tan Keng Yam for being elected as Singapore’s seventh President. You may be pleased to note that Dr Tan is also a local Moulmein resident. I would like to wish Dr Tan all the best in his appointment to our nation’s highest office.

In his recent National Day Rally speech, Prime Minister outlined several measures to help Singaporeans cope with challenges we are facing currently, and which we are likely to face in the future. I would like to take this opportunity to reiterate three of them. They are, tackling the housing crunch, expanding our healthcare system and improving educational opportunities for Singaporeans.

Tanglin CCMC WEC Chairman won the Good Neighbour Award 2011 given by HDB/PA. Below is the recommendation letter from her neighbour.

I recalled how Alice being my immediate neighbour (opposite unit) welcomed me with warm greetings and welcomed me into her home  when I  first moved in on 17 June 2010.

She always has a packed schedule  organising activities for the community as she the Chairman of Tanglin CC Women's  Executive Committee. She invited me to her 2011 Chinese New Year orange distribution to the elderly disadvantaged old folks in Block 47 Owen Road. I joined in the event and felt the cohesive spirit in the team she is leading. It made me very happy to be invited to share the joy of gving  to these old people. She also invited me to Tanglin CC to join her balloon sculpting lesson and then gave me a ride home.
